Sometimes it can be a trip here in WV, but if you go all in you will love it. . . Definitely more of a feeling of community here. Where we are people are super friendly, like family almost. Good and bad. You feel here like stepping back in time here which reminds me of my youth. Everyone waves and honks and cheers us on. The outside world does not resonate as much here as elsewhere and the people are genuinely excited that some people want to move here, a place which still has negative growth. The property taxes are super reasonable. Costs generally low, but I do find myself heading over the border to Ohio from time to time for all sorts of logistical reasons. WV feels lost in a way. In a good way. It is a great place to create something from an old lost piece of chaos. If you are into that sort of thing ;)

I’ve been thinking of escaping the high property taxes and prices of Texas and moving to West Virginia.
